About Fertility treatments - Getting the help of a donor!

On occassions a donor is needed, an egg donor or a sperm donor.
Many couples are not sure about it, but the results are great and normally the pregnancy goes without any problems. To read all about IVF fertility treatment click here.

Eggs Donors:

The result of egg donation can result in up to 60% of pregnancies in women recipient. This is normally applied to women who lose the function of their ovaries early on and is also common in some cases of surgury or chemotherapy.

It is also common for women with genetic diseases that inevitably will be transmited to their children. In women with bad eggs or bad quality. It is also common in older women that want to have a child for the first time.

The donor must be between 18 and 35 years old, socially integrated and in good health. They have to pass many exhaustive tests to make sure they don't carry any disease or infection.

Both women have to follow treatment to be able to proceed in the fertiliy procedure. The donor must follow a treatment to stimulate the ovaries and then the eggs are harvested without the donor having to stay in hospital over night.

The recipient woman is prepared to recieve the egg with a medication and Fertilization is carried our in vitro (the egg and the sperm are mixed in the lab and the embryo will be transfer to the recipient woman)

Sperm Donors:

In the case of the sperm donors, men don't usually take it as well as women take the egg donation, especially because as soon as the baby starts growing inside the woman body she doesn't doubt the love for the baby, whereas the man finds it harder to accept his role.

In this case the sperm from the donor will be used to fertilize the egg in vitro, to be implanted later after fertilisation has occured and cell division has begun.

The donor has to have high quality sperm, higher than average, to resist the process of freezing the sperm prior to their use. He will be checked for diseases and infections of all kinds. Also the donor should not have any kind of genetic disease or psycological instability and be socially integrated.

Hiring a mother for your child!

In couples where a pregnancy is imposible, but they still want to have their genetic child, the option is to hire a mother for the nine months. In countries like Spain this treatment is illegal because according to the law the baby belongs to whoever gives birth to him/her.

In America this is a possiblitity as a fertility treatment and another way to achieve parenthood. The couple will have to donate an egg and sperm which is then fertilized in the lab (IVF) and implanted in the hired woman.
