In
some women the early signs of pregnancy are obvious, like morning sickness
and nausea.
But in many cases, these symptoms don't appear until week 3 to 5 if it at
all.
The hormonal changes starts gradually so is not easy to detect some early
signs of pregnancy.
As soon as the egg is fertilized it start traveling down the fallopian tubes
until it reaches the uterus and attaches itself. That moment is crucial.
If the egg attaches properly the body produces the hormone that will stop
the menstruation, otherwise it won't. At this stage early signs of pregnancy
are difficult to find in most women.
The best thing to do is to take a pregnancy test and make sure it's positive.
The sooner the woman knows, the better, so she can start taking folic acid
(highly recommended to help the bone development in the baby). Also check
with the doctor to make sure everything is all right.
Another early sign of
pregnancy is the tiredness. Most women suffer tiredness in the first trimester
because of the hormone revolution going on inside their body.
Breast grows a bit because of the hormones as well, another early sign of
pregnancy.
Feeling tired and grumpy can also be considered a sign of pregnancy (no
jokes fellas!).
Occasionally an increase in appetite can signal an early sign of pregnancy,
or the complete opposite, not being able to face certain types of food with
sickness and nausea.
Another not so common
early sign of pregnancy is the skin problems, produced as well because
of the changes in hormone levels.
