If you want to know when is the best time to get pregnant, the following might contain some useful information for you.
When planning a baby, a lot of couples would like to know when is the best time to get pregnant in order to coordinate their sex life accordingly. In order to get pregnant, the best moment for having sexual intercourse is round about the ovulation, i.e. during the middle of the female cycle, as a woman is only fertile for a maximum of 5 days in each cycle. These days which last until the ovulation are called the fertile days. A woman with a regular cycle of 28 days, should have the ovulation on the 14th day after the beginning of the last period. As the male sperms have a life expectancy of 2-3 days (maximum 5 days), the best time to get pregnant, i.e. to have sexual intercourse is between 5 days and 12 hours before the ovulation.
Thus, the male sperms have a good chance to reach the tubes where they meet the egg cell after it has left the ovary. The actual fertilization of the egg cell takes place in the tube from where it wanders to the uterus.
The best time to get pregnant also largely depends on the personal living circumstances of the couple, i.e. not only on the economic situation but in particular whether the woman is leading a healthy lifestyle, as it is highly recommended that she should abstain from drugs, alcohol and cigarettes to not endanger the development of the embryo. If a mother-to-be is not sure whether she has to continue taking possibly prescribed medication, she should of course consult her gynaecologist for advice on the matter.
