For information on "infant baby newborn development", please read the following paragraphs.
The development of infants is not the same, but can be very different. A newborn makes use of all of its senses. It listens, watches, feels and has certain reflexes, e.g. the gripping reflex, the sucking reflex or the crying reflex which are already examined by the paediatrician or the midwife after the birth.
But newborns are as different as adults. Some learn certain abilities very quickly, others need a little longer. In most countries, medical checkups for newborns, infants and babies of certain age groups are recommended. During these checkups, the paediatrician especially pays attention to the physical and mental development of the child and whether it is capable to do everything it should do according to its age group.
In the following, the first steps of the infant baby newborn development are listed. At the age of three to four months, an infant can lift its head when lying on the tummy. One to two months later, a baby can turn from lying on the back to lying on the tummy. From the sixth to the eighth month, an infant can sit independently and in the following months, it normally starts to crawl, in the beginning sometimes backwards. However, many babies do not crawl at all, but try a little later to immediately pull themselves up.
At the age between eight and ten months, the curiosity of the child grows more and more. The baby starts to pull itself up by the aid of furniture and other items. From now on, nothing is safe in its reach. Therefore, pay attention to pointed or sharp items in a low height, e.g. on the lounge table. Most infants can walk with a helping hand at the age of ten to twelve months, and start to walk independently with twelve to sixteen months. These development steps can vary a lot. A lot of healthy, especially tall and big children do not start walking before 16 or 18 months.
