just two weeks the baby can be almost double size, up to 16 cm.

or a girl.
Maybe this week you can start feeling the movement of the baby,
like tickles in your belly. Now the baby is six times heavier than
a month ago. It will double in size from now on. Baby's legs are
now larger than the arms and can coordinate the movements. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 17:
You can notice
changes in your breast, like a lot larger and darker nipples. You
can see the veins in your body clearly now that blood fluid has
increased volume..
The baby can do facial gestures. The skin of the baby is starting
to grow body hair and can taste the amniotic liquid. Hips and muscles
are completely formed. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 18:
A line crosses your belly from the pelvis to the belly button, it's called sunrise line.
The baby has hair on its head. The ears develop and the baby can
hear outside noises. You will feel the baby move when there is a
sudden noise. The babie's bones are forming quickly. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 19:
The
baby skin is nicer and less wrinkly, because it's being filled with
body fat. The baby moves a lot and is about 23 cm. From week 17
to 20 you'll feel the baby moving for the first time. The nervous
system is now a lot more sophisticated and can move more coordinately.
The lungs keep growing and developing. Baby's heart beats faster
and stronger everyday. The baby spends most of the time sleeping,
but when it is awake it doesn't stop moving around.
Now the mother can feel some back pains because of the pressure of the belly. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 20:
It's possible
that your sugar level decreases, so it's convenient to eat little
and often, taking a bit of fruit or something else in your bag when
you are going out for long. Baby's body is now covered with body
hair and the head hair and eye brows are totally visible. Now, the
baby's body skin is totally protected and isolated from the amniotic
fluid with a thick substance called vernix caseosa.
At this stage the ultrasound could reveal any anatomic or morphologic problem with the baby. |

Perhaps you will
feel periods of movement and quiet times of your baby. The mammary
glands start preparing to feed the child.
The baby's eyes are mostly formed, but won't open for a little longer
. The baby can hear your heart beat and your voice. The baby is
conscious about the surrounding environment, and your voice and
your caresses of your belly will calm the baby.The eyes are close
but the iris is getting its final color. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 23
You
have probably put on 2 or 3 kilos, so you feel a bit heavy and tired,
rest with your feet up. Every three hours the amniotic liquid is
renewed.
The baby's nostrils are opening. The fine hair that covers the baby's
body is getting a bit darker. Now the head is in proportion to the
rest of the body.
Your baby is now exactly the same as when it will be born, just
smaller and thinner. |

Now the baby develops a sleeping timetable, so sometimes you'll feel a lot of movements and other times when the baby sleeps, you won't feel anything.

resting.

is a boy, this week the testicles would have descend to the scrotum.
The baby practices breathing in and out the amniotic fluid. At the
moment, the oxygen is coming through the placenta, and this sometimes
will produce hiccups, you can feel it with the rhytmic movements. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 26
It's
possible you will feel the Braxton Hicks contractions. Your body
is training for the moment of giving birth. Sometimes you'll have
the impression of falling on your front because of the weight in
your belly.
Your baby keeps growing everyday, 1 centimeter a week. Now looks
like a new born. The baby practices eating by sucking its finger,
and drinking amniotic liquid. It is practicing and perfecting its
technique.
The baby's body is developing a fat layer in the skin to control the body temperature. |
Pregnancy week by week - Week 27
Your bladder gets thinner because of the pressure. You will feel your belly hard and tense.
The baby has got its eyes open, and the heart beat is between 120
and 140 per minute.
Finally the baby is able to breathe on its on. The eyes are sensitive
to the light. The skin is getting smoother because of the layer
of fat underneath.
Now the baby practices sucking so when time come it will be able to suck the milk. |
