The third trimester of your pregnancy week by week:

Pregnancy week by week- Week 28:

The placenta transfers some antibodies from your body to the baby's body so, he/she will be born with some defense against certain diseases.
When you go to bed the pressure of the uterus and the baby on your diaphragm can be uncomfortable.
The baby is retaining fat under the skin to keep warm when birth time comes.
Thanks to the placenta the baby absorbs from you all the nutrients that it needs; calcium for the bones, iron for the red blood cells and proteins to grow. Baby's organs are immature but completely formed. If the baby is born now it would have 95% possibility of survival.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 29:

Probably you'll feel difficulties breathing because the baby is pressing up your lungs. At any moment now your breast can increase up to a third of the normal size.
The baby has now a considerable amount of hair on the head and the lungs are preparing to breathe.
Now, the baby grows a little slower, there is not enough space so will adopt the fetal position. Baby's weight now is around a kilo.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 30:

Your baby is getting stronger, it's possible to feel them through your belly.
Your uterus is pressing the back and the bladder, and can be quiet painful. The baby recognizes your voice on top of every other noise, but sounds different through your body. Baby's pupils respond to the light, dilating when the light is intense and contracting when there is not enough light.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 31:

The uterus is pressing hard on the intestines, making constipation a real problem most of the time.
If you have swollen face, hands or ankles, it could be a symptom of preeclampsia. Check your blood pressure and visit your doctor to eliminate the doubt.
Your baby has developed taste glands, he loves sweet taste and often samples the amniotic fluid. The lungs are quite well developed, if the baby is born now, it will use them without problem, the baby will start to use them when it is born. Every other organ is now working.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 32:

Your baby is running out of space. Any moment now, it will find the birth position, hopefully head down, preparing to finally come out.
Your body is passing antibodies to the baby to stop infections, and your body is preparing itself for labor, increasing the blood volume. Your belly has changed shape, and now gets big just below your breast.
Now your baby is about 30 cm's.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 33:

Your baby's head is now placed down in your pelvis. Veins are quite visible, because of the pressure. Your baby's lungs are producing a substance that expands and helps resisting pressure. The baby is increasing the fat reserves and the legs and arms are quite fat.
The nails of the toes and fingers are fully developed, the brain and the nervous system is developing quickly.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 34:

Baby keeps growing quickly, now the weight is about 2 kilos. The baby blinks and the face can have a lot of different expressions.
Be careful with the food, if you eat in excess the baby could increase a lot the weight and cause difficulties in labor. You might feel breathless because of the pressure of the baby on your lungs. The baby eliminates waste through the placenta. The baby keeps developing the layer of fat to keep warm when is born.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 35:

Because your baby is now so big, you probably feel very uncomfortable. The baby now doesn't have enough space to move, so rolls instead of turning around.
You feel heavy. The baby has lost all the small hair that covered the whole body. Avoid lifting heavy stuff, and don't stay on your feet for too long to avoid the extra stress on the uterus ligaments. Little by little, the baby is able to identify the sounds it is hearing.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 36:

You might experience cramps when the head of the baby gets into place in the pelvis area. Try to visit the toilet as frequent as you can, so the time to give birth will not be later than it should.
The baby is adding 14 grams a day to face the cold after is born. The toe nails are now quite large, when is born you will have to cut them.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 37:

The baby is producing cortisone, a hormone that will help to mature the lungs, preparing for the time to be born. Technically, the baby is fully developed.
You should now know the difference between the Braxton Hicks contractions with labor, if not, talk to the matron or the doctor.
The average weight of the baby is 2800 grams and around 34 cm's. You might feel hot all the time, your body is working very hard.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 38:

The baby should weigh around 3 kilos. If born now, the baby will breathe with no problems.
Now that labor gets closer, you might lose some amniotic liquid through the vagina. The baby should be in position to be born.
Your feeling about what's happening now could be very contradictory, wanting to have the baby soon and finish the uncomfortable situation and at the same time, fearing about the moment of giving birth.
The baby now is growing a lot slower.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 39:

The uterus line is opening and softening. You might experience troubles sleeping because of your big belly.
When the baby finally gtes into position in your pelvis, you might experience difficulties moving, sitting down and doing any regular things.
The baby can now be born, but keeps growing. Increases 15 grams of fat everyday that it spends inside the uterus.
Now, the vernix layer that was protecting the baby's skin starts dissolving.

Pregnancy week by week - Week 40:

The baby is totally ready to be born, hopefully with the head down, feet up, and the back in front of you. It's possible that you might feel a lot of energy, wanting to clean and prepare for the baby's arrival. Don't over do it. Only 3% of babies are born on the expected date, so if you are late, relax, it's normal.
It's good to rest as much as possible to save energy for the big moment. Giving birth will be an incredible experience, and after that you will have your wonderful baby with you.
Congratulations mom!
