On this page we will see week by week the different stages of pregancy. The advances in the baby growth and the different symptoms.

Stages of pregnancy : The first 12 weeks:

Congratulations. You are going to be a mom!
The first three months are particulary delicate in the development of your baby. So look after yourself carefully at this stage of pregnancy.

At this stage of pregnancy your child will develop from a group of cells to a 6 cm long fetus.

Nutrition is very important at this stage of pregnancy. You need to make sure you are feeding yourself with enough proteins, calcium, iron, omega 3, carbohydrates, fresh fruits and vegetables. And try to drink 2 litres of water daily, so your body can eliminate toxins.

Smooth and regular exercise will help you in the pregnancy and giving birth.
At the begining of this stage of pregnancy you'll feel very tired, but try to do a bit of exercise. At least 30 minutes 2 or 3 times a week. Energy levels will rise up and you'll feel better.
But be carefull, avoid any exercises that press on your joints, like high impact aerobic.
First of all you should talk to your gynecologist to make sure everything is all right and hear the doctor's recommendations. Remember practice any exercise with moderation at this stage of pregnancy.

Yoga for pregnant women is the best option.
It will help you relaxing, learning how to control breathing and it will be fantastic for the moment of giving birth.
Swimming tones the muscles, raises stamina levels and strengthens the ligaments, which are susceptible to damage at pregnancy.
But the very best of all exercises is walking because is free, effective and safe.

At this stage of pregnancy you'll feel tired and more sensitive. Mood swings are normal. Don't panic if you find yourself over reacting about things, more scared, crying, worried or irritable. It's completely normal. Your body is going through a big hormonal revolution. Hot baths, aromatherapy, yoga and meditation will help along this stage of pregnancy.

Things you should do during these first stage of the pregnancy:

1.- Take folic acid. It's been proved that taking folic acid during pregnancy prevents malformations and spina bifida. Vegetables with green leaves are rich in folic acid.

2.- Think about the nanny. When you go back to work after the maternity leave, you'll need to find somebody to look after the baby. Plan with time
